Jessada Chan-yaem (2000, Kamphaengphet, Thailand) is a queer filmmaker and Moving Image artist originally from Kamphaengphet but currently residing in Bangkok, Thailand graduated with a film Study Major at the School of Digital Media & Cinematic Arts, Bangkok University.
Their artistic pursuits primarily encompass contemporary art, moving images, and filmmaking, with a penchant for exploring the possibilities of cinema. Jessada's creative endeavors often delve into themes such as dreams, hometown experiences, displacement, queer identity, and the exploration of political issues through personal narratives, local concerns, and folklore.
Notably, Jessada's works have been showcased in various film festivals and screening events, ‘The Sound of Devouring Dust’ their 1st short film, screened the Moving Image and Screening Night 2022, the Erotic Film Festival 2022, got runner-up from the Digital Forum program from the Thai Short Film Festival in 2022, the Experimental Forum in 2022, Finalist for Bangkok Critics Assembly 2023.
also, Jessada has been experienced and made other films; their previous Documentary project was a hybrid documentary they made for their Thesis, ‘I Dreamed of Running Away Last Night’ Still in process, ‘Storm After the Storm’ screened in Wildtype Film Festival 2023 and selected participants for Super 8 film workshop with Rolling Wild and Commonmove supported by Purin Pictures.
